Panoramic has become the first Scottish Private Equity Firm to sign up to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.
Panoramic Growth Equity (“Panoramic”), the independent investment business based in Scotland, is pleased to announce that it has become a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI).
The PRI is designed to help investors consider the environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues in investment decision-making and ownership practices, thereby improving the long-term returns to beneficiaries.
Becoming a signatory formalises Panoramic’s use of the PRI framework in determining investment risks in a potential investee company. Panoramic are the first Scottish based investment business to sign up to the UN PRI and in so doing, join other private equity businesses such as Cinven and BC Partners.
Stephen Campbell, partner at Panoramic said “We apply these principles in our investment decision making and believe, along with other supporters of the principles, that full consideration of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues can improve long term investment returns while addressing wider societal concerns.”
“We also believe it is in our best interest to encourage high standards of corporate governance and corporate responsibilities in the companies in which we invest. However, we do not exclude any companies based on the sector in which they operate but rather look to actively engage in a constructive manner and improve transparency and reporting on issues that have relevance to a wider stakeholder base.”
Panoramic Growth Equity considers corporate governance, environmental and legal risks in researching investment opportunities.
