One investment, one board member, and Barcelona…

On 31 May 2012 Drew Thomson, a member of the Panoramic Growth Equity Advisory Board, launched starcount – the world’s first truly global social media popularity leaderboard, supported by thousands of charts.  starcount has gained huge interest and press coverage since its launch in Singapore.  Those featuring on the charts seem to be delighted with the work as well, with FC Barcelona tweeting “Thank you, friends! FC Barcelona, the best sports club in the world on social networks according to starcount” and Cristiano Ronaldo tweeting about his Social Star Award for most popular Sportsperson of 2012.

Dog Digital –the award-winning digital marketing agency (and a Panoramic investment) helped develop both the brand and site alongside starcount’s technical, digital and management teams.  Gerry McCusker, founder and Managing Director of Dog Digital told Panoramic, “With such a massive global reach, starcount is a hugely exciting project to be involved in. The challenge for the agency was to knit together a technical solution for the complex integration of 11 social media platforms, but still appeal to markets where cultures, languages and trends are so diverse. With the site now launched and experiencing huge visitor numbers, it is a challenge I believe we have fully met”.

Drew Thomson, Joint CEO for All The Worlds Entertainment – parent company of starcount – also commented on Dog’s involvement: “We at starcount are really proud of the digital work done by our strategic partner Dog Digital. They have been working with us for many months building our site and they have demonstrated a world class understanding of all aspects of the social and digital spectrum. We are excited about continuing to work with them out of both their Singapore and Glasgow offices”.

The team at Panoramic pride ourselves on working creatively with our portfolio companies and the Dog/starcount work is a great example of our proactive and collaborative approach.
